Cullen Jones, U.S.A.  2007 World Swimming Champion visits Healthy Start Academy

Cullen Jones, U.S.A. World Swimming Champion, visited Healthy Start Academy on Wednesday, March 26, 2008.  Jones is native of New Jersey and NC State graduate.  Jones provided students in grades 1 through 5 important Water Safety Tips, the need to learn to swim, and nuggets of wisdom for success in life.  Jones answered questions from students, signed autographs, and supplied every student with a swim cap.   “Mr. Jones’ visit to our campus is an example of Healthy Start Academy bringing the world to our students,” said Principal Danner.    It is my desire to continue to offer swimming as a skill every second grader will learn during his or her tenure at Healthy Start Academy.  Mr.  Jones’ visit was sponsored by the YMCA of the Triangle and the USA Swimming Foundation.
